Trade Show Madness

It's been a while since my last post, but I have a valid reason for neglecting you guys. This week has been absolutely hectic. The beginning of the year is usually busy for my job as we have 3 trade shows pretty much back to back within a 6 week period. This week we were at ENK Coterie (a global marketplace that bridges apparel and accessories to the top retailers, both local and international).

The process is a long haul! We set up the booth, we take orders in the booth during the show, then we pack up and breakdown on the last day. 5 exhausting days to say the least. The show is a great platform for designers to get their line viewed, orders placed, and merchandise into stores.

Here are a few pictures of the two lines that we showcased at Coterie.
Florabella Accessories and Resort Wear

Lisa Freede Jewelry

The show had a good turn out which makes the hard work and long days worth it. Now that I'm back to my regularly scheduled program, I can get back to blogging.

Sincerely,
Lyasia

Weekend Getaway: Napa, California

I'm extremely sad that this fairytale weekend has come to an end. Napa, California was just as amazing as I expected it to be. As you would expect, the weather was everything that one could ask for coming from the blistering cold of NYC.

We flew into San Francisco, so we had the opportunity to view some of the city on the drive up to Napa. I was crossing my fingers in hopes of seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. We did get a quick glimpse of it from a distance as we were heading in the opposite direction (I hate that I couldn't get a good picture). Shawn did not hold back on dropping hints of wanting to go back to San Francisco. We'll see.

The Meritage Resort and Spa was perfection with its Tuscan inspired decor. I loved how cozy and relaxing it was. A true wine country feeling.

From the scenery to the food to the abundance of wine (probably my favorite part), I was head over heels in love!

Vineyard view from our room balcony.

The highlight of our Valentine's Day was heading out at 6:30am to our hot air balloon ride which was magical. While up in the air, we witnessed a couple get engaged. So sweet! Being able to see the mountains and vineyards from 3000 feet in the air was like nothing I've ever seen before. Safe to say that it was very different from the New York City skyline that I'm used to.

Breath taking views of the mountains!

Wine tasting cave.

Overall, the experience of being in Napa was simply amazing. In such a short trip, we managed to go on a hot air balloon ride, champagne brunch, wine tasting, romantic dinner and more. I'm already in Shawn's ear about how we have to go back.  Perfect Valentine's Day Getaway.

Love Day

Valentine's Day is approaching and I'm sure that all women (including myself) want to look and feel amazing on this romantic day. Being that I'm in a relationship, unlike years prior, I've actually become excited about it. My boyfriend and I will be spending our first love day on the West Coast in Napa, California! Of course I plan to share my experience once I get back, so be on the look out.

Below are 4 Vday outfit ideas.

Fun florals and flirty

Floral prints are great for bringing in variety of color to a dress. What I love about the floral dress shown above is the ombrĂ© effect. It adds a different touch to the ordinary floral dress. The fact that it's fitted is also a plus because it makes it more formal for night. Not all florals are made strictly for day dresses.

The best part of the lace dress is the A-line silhouette. It keeps the dress flirty and allows movement which is great for a night of dancing.

Although these two looks make the perfect option for a date with your significant other, they are also great for a ladies night out. They both have a flirty way to them without being overly sexy.

Pop of color and the LBD

Love the pop of pink on the bottom of the dress. Another A-line silhouette, but a little more structured than the previous. This dress can accentuate ones natural curves, or give that illusion to the less curvy girl.

You can never go wrong with the little black dress! This is a staple piece for every woman's wardrobe. What I enjoy about the dress above is that it's a simple and clean silhouette. It makes the perfect look for the more sophisticated woman ,yet still comes off very sexy for the occasion. When in doubt, pull out your LBD!

There are so many options out there to choose from. Find the one that best fits your body type and personality. For those going out with your significant other, pick something that you'd both love. For all of you that are single, who said that Valentine's Day had to be for couples only?! Grab your single friends and flirty dresses for a girls night out!

Sincerely,
Lyasia

Music's Biggest Night

If I have to be subjected to dealing with the brutally cold winter of NYC, having award season to look forward to helps out a lot. I was very excited to see some of my favorite artist perform. Ed Sheeran swooned me as usual, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Sir Paul McCartney performed their new single (which was a genius collaboration by the way), and of course Beyonce ended the night with her soulful voice.

Although the performances were good, the fashion at The Grammy's was amazing and was not a disappointment. I was pleased to see the amount of people that stepped out on the red carpet dressed to impress.

For those who know me, may call me bias with a few of my choices. Maybe I am, but I can't help that my favorite artists always show up and show out!

Here are my best dressed ladies of the night.

Beyonce in Proenza Schouler

Kim Kardashian West in Jean Paul Gaultier

Nicki Minaj in Tom Ford

Katy Perry in Zuhair Murad

Taylor Swift in Elie Saab

These dresses made a huge impact on the red carpet. Similar to the impact that these ladies have all made in today's pop culture.

What were your favorite looks of the night?

Sincerely,
Lyasia

A New Chapter

Hello fabulous people! 3 years ago during my senior year of college (boy does time fly), I created this blog as an outlet to share my obsessions and love of many things. Unfortunately, between classes, internships, the start of a new job, and just life itself, I allowed my blog to fall to the waist side. But, I am back!

With all of the growth and exciting things happening in my life now, there couldn't have been a better time to restart my blogging journey. This is my place to document the things that I love. Everything from my personal style, inspirations, love for fashion, beauty, travel, food, DIY projects and more. I hope you all enjoy!

Sincerely,
Lyasia
